Zone Valve Testing

It is that time of year again where we are starting to get ready for the fall and winter. One item that comes up suddenly when the weather starts to get cold is no heat calls. Most of the time these are the result of the failure of the zone valve that controls the heat in each unit. We would request that you take a moment to test your valve.

To test the zone valve, turn up the heat on your thermostat to about 30 degrees. Wait about 5 minutes and then feel the radiant heating pipes that run on the outside walls of your unit. Be careful as these should now be quite hot. If they are not hot then the valve is likely not working. If this is the case please contact DCCI Management to arrange for Trotter & Morton to come in and replace it.
